Lesson Learned...

SO...if you don't specifically promote a home page to the front page then Drupal puts the 'hey look at this new site' message back.....how embarassing....

Questions and Answers:

  • What do you want to get out of a customer when they come to you?
  • What does a customer want to accomplish when they come to you?
  • How do all possible variables affect the outcomes of interactions.
  • Walk a mile in their shoes: Walking through the user experience, step by step, is about looking for those points where your goals and their needs meet.

Like a choreographer or performance director you have to decide what you want your consumers to know and when you want them to know it. Unlike a director you get to watch a wide pool of actors perform your script over and over. The data embodied in your observations becomes the basis for validating your system or the agent of change to improve the system.

Even a successful director knows that there is always room for improvement. Setting up goals, metrics and means for measuring goals helps you get on track, get back on track and stay on track.
